  2. Kron's stand-up is reflective of his objective. I'm not saying he can't improve or anything like that, but it's obvious he's not moving around too much or committing to any hard punches because all he wants to do is close the distance when his guy throws a haymaker. When that didn't happen, Kron knew his opponent wasn't a sharp shooter and literally rushed in with raised arms because he knew the likelihood of getting caught was slim. Had he fought a true striker, he would have masked his entry better IMO.

  3. If Kron is ever in the UFC, I can see the hype if they match him up against Sérgio Moraes. This depends if both are in the UFC at the time and Sérgio is not so war torn by then.

  4. I love how as soon as Rickson walks in, both the Japanese guy and his corner walk strait over, shake his hand, and bow profusely. Mad respect.

  5. Hey what's that thing about lifting his lead leg up in the air like that. Reminds me of Royce. I would guess it's for foot stomps to distract opponent but that's a wild guess. Could someone let me know what the purpose of doing that is ? Thanks.

  6. For me as korean,  it is sorry to watch this match but also I am impressed by Kron's old school stomping that have brought me a memory of old time MMA.

  7. His striking looks about as stellar as Royce's. I mean for sure, his Jiujitsu is top notch, but he's only going to get so far in MMA from the bottom of the guard. I'm not impressed—yet.

  8. Kron should fight Aoki in MMA. Aoki got robbed in their grappling match. Aoki has way more experience in MMA but he isn't much of a threat standing, so Kron won't have that much of a disadvantage in striking. Something similar happened a few years ago when Yoshida got a bogus win over Royce Gracie in a grappling match. They had a rematch under MMA rules.

  9. took that right hand well, he is SOOO bad at takedowns in MMA! he needs to set up his take downs with punches! who the fuck is training this kid! so bad! you got to threaten then shoot or get the clinch you cant just walk towards them with your hands out against a good level guy, its a dangerous mistake. Sick guard work loved it! will be folllowing his career closely!

  10. wow fights just like his dad this guy was a human punching bag for him though he needs more than jj if he wants to make it big

  11. Kron and Renzo the only 2 Gracies worth talking about….Krons cousins Renner and the other one are Jiu Jitsu Business men…ruining there grandfathers legacy. luckily Kron is representing the right way and once he gets his striking down …wow look out !!

  12. His stand up looks pretty bad. He can't fight the same way his father and uncle did in the early days of US MMA — neither of those guys would be competitive against the elite guys at 170 (Royce) and 185 (Rickson). The sport has evolved. I think Roger Gracie proved that with his UFC showings. Hopefully he continues to grow and work on his striking and maybe one day move over to the UFC and fight with the big boys

  13. Bunch of sensitive pansies on here, getting worked up over nonsense, get your panties unbunched and get upset over a real cause weirdos. I can't wait to see all the feedback from the losers with nothing better to do than vent their frustrations over a keyboard. Keep it up, making aholes pissed off literally makes my day.

  14. What I don't get is why anyone here is judging Kron's performance in this match?  Nobody commenting on this video is an MMA fighter, let alone a retired vale tudo fighter with an eleven win undefeated streak whose last name happens to be Gracie.  Last I checked that was Rickson.
When the lot of you train in both a grappling and striking art, and rack up as many wins as Rickson has, then you can all run your rubber fingers over your keyboards and say something remotely relevant about Kron Gracie's fighting or any other MMA fighter's game for that matter.  Until then, keep it simple and playful.
By the way, I am aware that this is a video of Kron Gracie's first MMA fight.  He did fantastic, and in my opinion that's all that needs to be said about it.

  15. if Kron takes you down your ass might as well tap out even if your a good grappler he is elite level world class grappler and on the ground with him and the fight is over. I can see he is open to an overhand right when striking and if someone who is a great striker could get a good shot on him there but all due respect , Kron is awesome.

  16. Not a hater.  I'm surprised not that he wins, but by his style.  Basically his style is pretty much like his uncle and father's.  Jujitsu kick, walk in clinch, took some shots along the way, even pulling guard, not even Rickson and Royce gone for that right away.  My opinion is if he gets to fight at a UFC level, he will get lit up, badly.

  17. His striking looks the way I thought it would, but he looked good. His combat guard was really tight. I'm excited for his fighting future. I love that he's following his dad's footsteps going to Japan 1st and taking his time.

  18. That's some weak shit. Kron Gracie is a master in his style of combat, he should go against a master of some other style of combat. I wan't to see him do this against say Machida.

  19. I'm pretty sure the Gracies try to have almost no striking to support their "jujitsu is all you need" shit.
